Terms of Service
Read the Terms of Service for cloud translate's certified document translation services, including payment, cancellations, and liability terms.

1. Description of Services
cloud translate provides certified, notarized, and sworn document translation services in over 100 languages, for USCIS, immigration, legal, academic, business, and personal use. Full details on the document types and languages we translate are listed on our Documents and Languages pages, and aren't repeated here. cloud translate does not provide apostille services; an apostille is a separate government authentication arranged directly with the relevant Secretary of State's office or equivalent, not through us.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to place an order. You're responsible for the accuracy of the account information you provide and for keeping your login credentials confidential. You're responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Ordering and Payment
Standard certified translation is $18 per page (24–48 hour turnaround), expedited translation is $28 per page, and notarization is available as a $9 per-document add-on, as published on our pricing pages. Payment is due at the time you place your order and is processed by a third-party payment processor; see our Security & Privacy Practices page for how payment information is handled. We reserve the right to correct pricing errors and to change our published rates at any time; a price change doesn't affect an order you've already placed and paid for.
4. Cancellations and Refunds
If you cancel your order before a translator has begun work, you're entitled to a full refund. Once translation work has begun, your order is non-refundable, since it reflects work already performed, though you may still request delivery of the completed translation.
Every order carries a 100% acceptance guarantee: if your certified translation is rejected by the receiving agency specifically on accuracy grounds, we will correct it at no additional cost. This guarantee covers correction, not a cash refund, and doesn't apply if a document is rejected for a reason unrelated to translation accuracy (see Section 6 below).
5. Turnaround Times
Standard, expedited, and notarization turnaround times listed on our website are estimates measured from when we receive your complete, legible document and full payment, not guarantees. Delays caused by unclear source documents, incomplete information, or circumstances outside our reasonable control (see Section 18, Force Majeure) may extend these estimates; we'll notify you if that happens on your order.
6. Acceptance by Receiving Agencies
We provide a signed Certificate of Accuracy with every translation, the format USCIS and most U.S. agencies, courts, and institutions require. However, we don't control, and can't guarantee, the internal policies or discretionary decisions of any government agency, court, university, employer, or other third party that receives your translation. If your document is rejected for a reason unrelated to the accuracy of the translation itself, for example, formatting requirements specific to that agency, an issue with the original document, or a change in that agency's own policy, that's outside the scope of our accuracy guarantee, though we'll work with you in good faith to resolve it where we can.
7. Your Responsibilities
You confirm that you have the legal right to submit any document you upload for translation, that the document is genuine and unaltered, and that you're not using our Services to create or facilitate a fraudulent document or to misrepresent facts to any government agency, court, or other institution. You're responsible for reviewing your completed translation and promptly flagging any concern.
8. Acceptable Use
In addition to Section 7, you agree not to use our website or Services to: violate any applicable law; infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights; transmit malware or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems; scrape, harvest, or systematically extract data from our website; or interfere with the security or proper functioning of our Services. We may suspend or terminate access for a violation of this section.
9. Intellectual Property
You retain all rights to the documents you upload; submitting a document for translation doesn't transfer any ownership of it to us, and we use it only to provide the Services, consistent with our Security & Privacy Practices page. Once delivered and paid for, you own your completed certified translation and may use it freely. Our website content, logos, branding, and translation templates remain our property, and you may not reproduce or repurpose them without permission. If you submit a review or testimonial, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display it on our website and in marketing materials, and you confirm it's honest and your own words.
10. Confidentiality and Privacy
Uploaded documents and personal information are handled according to the practices described on our Security & Privacy Practices page, including encryption, access controls, data retention, and your right to request deletion. That page, not this one, governs how your data is protected; we don't repeat those details here.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
Our website may link to third-party websites or rely on third-party services (such as payment processing) that we don't control. We aren't responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site or service, and linking to one doesn't imply our endorsement of it.
12. Disclaimers
Our website and Services are provided "as is" and "as available." Other than the accuracy guarantee described in Section 4, we don't make warranties, express or implied, that our website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that our Services will meet every requirement of every receiving agency, court, or institution worldwide. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, cloud translate isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of our Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that specific order. This limitation doesn't apply to liability that can't legally be limited, such as liability for our own fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold cloud translate harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of our Services, or a document you submit that infringes someone else's rights or is fraudulent or unlawful.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to our Services at any time for a violation of these Terms, or for suspected fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity. You may stop using our Services and close your account at any time, though closing your account doesn't cancel an order already in progress or erase records we're required to keep, as described on our Security & Privacy Practices page.
16. Governing Law
This clause is being finalised and will be published here once it is settled. It does not yet form part of these terms — ask us if you need the position before then.
17. Dispute Resolution
This clause is being finalised and will be published here once it is settled. It does not yet form part of these terms — ask us if you need the position before then.
18. Force Majeure
We aren't liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government action, internet or infrastructure outages, or labor disputes.
19. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in full effect, and the unenforceable provision will be interpreted to reflect its original intent as closely as legally possible.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Security & Privacy Practices page and any order-specific terms, make up the entire agreement between you and cloud translate regarding your use of our Services, and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject.
21. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last Updated" date above; continuing to use our Services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
