Privacy Policy
Read cloud translate's Privacy Policy — what personal information we collect, how it's used, and your privacy rights under GDPR, CCPA, and other laws.

1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Contact and account information: name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address, and account login credentials.
- Order information: the documents you upload for translation, quote and order details, the completed translation, payment information (processed by our payment processor; see Section 5), and any messages you send us about your order.
- Automatically collected information: IP address, browser type, device information, internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and timestamps, collected via cookies and log files when you use our website (see Section 3).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: provide and deliver the translation services you order; process payment; communicate with you about your order; provide customer support; maintain the security and proper functioning of our website; improve our services; and comply with legal, accounting, and tax obligations. We don't use the documents you upload for any purpose beyond completing your order, and we don't use them to train any general-purpose AI or machine translation model.
3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website stores a small amount of data in your own browser, and only where a feature needs it: your sign-in session if you have an account, a half-finished order so a reload does not cost you the form you were filling in (kept for the browser tab only), and a note of whether you have dismissed the sign-in prompt. Our servers also keep standard request logs. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or retargeting cookies of any kind, and nothing of that sort is ever applied to the documents you upload for translation. You can clear this data or block it in your browser settings at any time, though signing in and resuming a saved order will stop working if you do.
4. How We Share Your Information
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with the trusted service providers described on our Security & Privacy Practices page (hosting, payment processing, email delivery, and — only if you request it — notarization), and only as needed to deliver your order. We may also disclose information when legally required to, such as in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or search warrant, or to protect our rights, safety, or property, or that of our clients.
5. Payment Information
Payment is processed by a third-party payment processor; we don't store your full card number on our own servers. See our Terms of Service (Section 3, Ordering and Payment) for our payment terms, and our Security & Privacy Practices page for how payment data is technically protected.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information only as long as needed to provide our Services, plus any additional period required for accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legal obligations. Exact retention periods and our deletion process are published on our Security & Privacy Practices page, and aren't repeated here.
7. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR — EU/UK Residents)
If you're located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; request erasure; restrict or object to our processing; and receive a copy of your information in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our contact page; we aim to respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
8. Your Privacy Rights (California and Other U.S. States)
If you're a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you the right to: know what personal information we've collected about you; request deletion of it; correct inaccurate information; and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. We don't sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of on that front today, but you can still submit any of the other requests to contact page. You won't be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
9. Children's Privacy
Our Services are intended for use by adults placing their own orders. We don't knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian may submit a minor's document (such as a birth certificate) as part of their own order; that document is handled with the same confidentiality as any other document, described on our Security & Privacy Practices page. If you believe a child has provided us personal information directly, contact us through our contact page and we'll delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
If you're located outside the country where our servers are hosted, your information may be transferred to and processed in that country; we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection wherever it's processed.
11. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. There's currently no common industry standard for how to respond to these signals, so our website doesn't respond to them differently today.
12. Third-Party Links
Our website may link to third-party websites we don't control. This Privacy Policy applies only to cloud translate; we encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last Updated" date above and, where required by law, provide additional notice.
14. Contact Us
Questions about this Privacy Policy, or want to exercise one of the rights described above? Contact us through our contact page. For how we technically protect your data, see our Security & Privacy Practices page; for our service terms, see our Terms of Service.
